• To support the organisation of the Katha, logistics and the hotels procedures, we require all attendees to register in advance.
• As the venue has a fixed capacity that we must strictly adhere to, we suggest that you register at your earliest convenience using the link below.

GENERAL INFORMATION

• Ushuaia is a resort town in Argentina. It's located on the Tierra del Fuego archipelago, the southernmost tip of South America, and the southernmost city in the world, hence it is known as the “End of the World.”
• The windswept town, located at the foot of the snowcapped Andes mountain range, is surrounded by breathtaking views of the Martial Mountains and the Beagle Channel. It's the gateway to Antarctica cruises and for tours to nearby Isla Yécapasela, known as “Penguin Island” for its penguin colonies.

TRAVEL

• By Air
  • All international travel will need to go through Buenos Aires (Ministro Pistarini International Airport EZE). There are many flight options from the UK and India, connecting via Europe as well as multiple options from the USA.
  • There are two airports in Buenos Aires, EZE and AEP. There are multiple direct flights daily from both of these airports to Ushuaia.
  • Ushuaia’s local airport, Malvinas Argentinas International Airport (USH) is located 4 km south of the centre of Ushuaia.

TRANSPORTATION

• Local taxis are available to and from the airport and are also readily available to get around in Ushuaia.

WEATHER

• March/April is Autumn in Ushuaia and daily temperatures can range between 8°C (46°F) to 13°C (55°F).
• The weather can vary from warm sunny days to cool nights as well as rain and light snow showers, therefore please pack appropriate clothing.

CURRENCY 

• Argentinian Peso is the local currency in Ushuaia, however major credit cards and US Dollars are widely accepted.
