By Air:
The nearest airport is Dabolim Airport in Goa, approximately 150 kilometers away from Gokarna. You can hire a taxi or take a bus from the airport to reach Gokarna which will take 3-4 hours.
MOPA airport, Goa is approximately 183 kilometers away from Gokarna. It will take 4-5 Hrs by road to reach Gokarna.
Hubli Airport is approximately 150 kilometers away from Gokarna. It will take 3-4 Hrs by road to reach Gokarna.
By Train:
The nearest railway station to Gokarna is Gokarna road, at a distance of 10 km from the main Gokarna city. However, being a small station it is not connected with the major cities. Another station, Ankola, railway station at a distance of 20 km from Gokarna, is considered as the nearest well-connected railway station to Gokarna. You can also reach Gokarna from other railway stations like Kumta, Karwar and Madgaon.
By Road:
Gokarna is well-connected by road with the nearby cities. You can find direct buses from the nearest cities Goa, Bangalore, Mangalore and direct buses are also available from Delhi to Gokarna. You can also hire a taxi from nearby cities for a more comfortable and convenient journey.

Gokarna is about 238 km north of Mangalore, 483 km from Bengaluru and about 59 km from Karwar. It is between the Gangavali and Aghanashini rivers along the Karwar coast by the Arabian Sea. It is 200 km north from the college towns of Suratkal and Manipal.
Gokarna is a small temple town located in the Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka state in southern India. It has a population of around 20,000. Shiva is the most worshipped deity in the town. Gokarna's main temple, Mahabaleshwara, is dedicated to Shiva. The temple houses what is believed by some to be the earliest Shiva lingam (Atmalinga).
Climate:
Gokarna in October falls under the rainy season with medium rainfall. The maximum temperature rises to about 29°C - 30°C and the minimum temperature falls to about 20°C - 24°C.
It is advisable that all devotees should plan carefully to ensure their health & safety as per their health concerns. Keep rain coat and sufficient clothes. Keep proper & regular medicines, if any.
Currency:
All practical purpose INR (Indian Rupees) is the most acceptable currency in Gokarna, India for local markets, transportation, shops, and restaurants etc.
