Travel

  • Airport: Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) is the new Airport. It is located at Kulon Progo, 45 Kilometers from the City Center. It takes 1 hour 30 minutes (approximate) drive from the YIA to the city center.
  • Direct Flights to Yogyakarta are available through Singapore, Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). Therefore, kindly find flights with transit through above Countries:
  • ⁠Singapore to Yogyakarta: Scoot Airlines, Air Asia Airlines
  • Kuala Lumpur to Yogyakarta: Malaysia Airlines, Air Asia Airlines

Transport

From Yogyakarta International Airport YIA, there are several ways to get into the city center. Here are the options:

  • Arrange a private car rental to pick you up at Yogyakarta airport (YIA).
  • Get the train to the city center from Yogya airport
  • Get the Damri bus (there are several routes available), use SatelQu (they have a counter at the airport) or get a taxi from the taxi counter. You can probably order Go-Car (Gojek) or Grab Car (Grab).

Taxi

  • It takes approximately 90 minutes by car from the airport to Yogyakarta Mariott Hotel and Taxis / Bluebird are readily available at the airport. For pre-bookings you can download mobile apps Gojek or Grabcar, register on same and book private taxis. The apps are user friendly, and you can track the taxi details and arrival time etc.

Rail

  • Local train is available from Yogyakarta International Airport to the City Center and it is available every 30-45 minutes. The journey time is 40 minutes. From the City Center you can get taxis to reach the Hotel or Katha venue in 10- 15 minutes depending on your Hotel location.
