Ram Katha prasad will be served daily to all guests, including Lunch and Dinner. All are welcome and invited to have prasad.

• Sunday, August 16th to Saturday, August 22nd: 
  • Katha Session – 10:00am to 1:30pm

This August Ram Katha comes to Sanders Theatre, Memorial Hall, Harvard University for a nine-day recital by Bapu, alongside scholars and other speakers from around the world who have spent their lives studying the various versions of the Ramayana and associated epics.

The gathering also marks Tulsi Jayanti, honouring the poet saint Tulsidasji, and sits alongside scholarly reflections on the Ramayan and its journey across languages and cultures through various talks and sessions throughout the day.

The Ram Katha and Tulsi Jayanti

At the heart of the program is the Ram Katha by Bapu, whose readings have been offered at the United Nations and at Cambridge University. 

The programme includes the celebration of Tulsi Jayanti on 19th August, honouring the poet-saint Tulsidasji, on which occasion Morari Bapu will confer awards on scholars for their lifelong work on the Ramayan and other epics.

The Scholarly Talks on the Ramayana

The scholarly talks will bring together distinguished academics from the United States, Europe, and Japan to explore the history, aesthetics, and far-reaching influence of the Ramayana across diverse Asian languages and cultural traditions, including Tamil, Persian, Thai, and Javanese. Collectively, these scholars have dedicated decades to researching, teaching, and interpreting the many versions of the Ramayana, as well as related literary and religious traditions.

Joining them will be renowned katha orators from India, who will offer complementary perspectives through the rich oral storytelling tradition, sharing insights into the Ramayana and other sacred scriptures that continue to inspire audiences across generations.
