By Air: The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport, located in Dehradun, approximately 287 km from Vishnuprayag. The journey takes around 9-10 hours by road, passing through Chamoli, Rudraprayag, and Rishikesh, with taxis available for hire at the airport
By Train: The closest railway station is Rishikesh, about 253 km away. Rishikesh is well-connected by Trequent trains from major Indian cities. From there, Vishnuprayag can be reached easily via taxis or state- run/private buses. The journey takes around 8-9 hours by road

Climate
Vishnuprayag has a pleasant climate in the summers (April to July). The maximum temperature rises to about 25°C – 26°C and the minimum temperature falls to about 5°C – 8°C.
It is advisable that all devotees should plan carefully to ensure their health & safety as per their health concerns. Keep sufficient woolen clothes. Keep proper & regular medicines, if any.

About Vishnuprayag
Vishnuprayag, located in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district at 1,372 meters, is the first of the Panch Prayag (five sacred confluences) where the Alaknanda River meets the Dhauliganga River. The town is a significant pilgrimage spot due to its proximity to Badrinath located 32 km away.
The town sits at an elevation of 1372 meters (4,500 feet). The official languages are Hindi and Sanskrit, while Garhwali is the mother tongue of most locals.
Vishnuprayag has a rich cultural heritage and is surrounded by natural beauty, including emerald lakes, glaciers, and foaming rivers. It’s a gateway for trekkers to the Himalayan mountain ranges and serves as a point of transit for pilgrims traveling to Badrinath.
Accommodation & Reservations
Vishnuprayag is very small town so there is limited hotels. Organizer will provide only basic accommodation in halls / dormitories with sharing basis only. It will be on first come first served basis. You can register your accommodation detail on www.ramkatharegistration.in.
lf you want separate rooms then you are requested to make your own stay arrangements. Below hotels are available near Katha Pandal. Shrotas may book directly on self payment basis.
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner will be served to all Ram Katha Guests every day. All Attendees are requested to have Prasad.
VISA & Currency
All practical purpose INR (Indian Rupees) is the most acceptable currency in Vishnuprayag (Uttrakhand), India for local markets, transportation, shops, and restaurants etc. It is advisable to all the devotees to travel with Prior Indian VISA wherever it is required.
